FRIENDS COME AND GO.yea. someone sweet just told me this over the phone. ironically, she has the same name and surname as someone who used to be really important to me. haha. it seems so oxymoronic how people who you used to care so much about now treat you like dirt.
church camp was awesome. though i was only there for a mere one night and half a day, i experienced more than i believed i would have if i went for the entire camp. on the night i was there, i witnessed about 3/4 of the youths present being slain. it was really an encounter, as i haven't exactly seen much of it in my entire life. i mean, i've heard much, talked much, but this is the first "hands-on" kinda experience i had with it. hehe. some cried cos they felt the Holy Spirit upon them, some laid on the floor recovering from the encounter, but all i could feel was giddyness and all i wanted to do was faint. haha. somehow when i looked up and saw this particular pair crying, tears started to well up in my eyes and i felt like crying too. however, i stopped myself from doing so. i don't know why.
in the camp, i saw people grow. yunjie is one HUGE example. haha. he used to be really laid back and stuff. throughout the 3 and a half years i've known him, he's really one guy that i've seen grown and mature the most. i remember how he used to be really introverted and shy, refusing to talk whenever people tried to initiate conversations with him. looking at him now, it's really amazing how God can change people.
"We love because He first loved us. - 1 John 4:19"
this is the theme verse of the camp, and i felt it was really meaningful. it dawned upon me that God really loves all of us so much so that He placed different people in our lives. like how i got thrown about in the mud so that i would learn to appreciate everything i have now. (:
